Traffic investigators Saturday asked the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a hit and run crash that severely injured a 13-year-old boy on a bicycle.

The crash was at 3:20 p.m. Monday at Radford Avenue and Hamlin Street, police said.

A vehicle southbound on Radford Avenue collided with the bicyclist who was eastbound on Hamlin Street, police said. The driver stopped briefly then fled the scene.

The boy was taken to a hospital with major injuries, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic woman between 40 and 49 years-old with brown hair and brown eyes, of average height, weighing 140 pounds, police said.

The vehicle was described as a gray minivan, possibly a Honda, Toyota or GMC, they said.
