Detectives Tuesday sought additional possible victims of a Santa Ana man who made his initial court appearance on charges of drugging and raping a woman in downtown Huntington Beach on May 5.

Kyle Ryan, 34, was arrested on Friday in Santa Ana, according to Huntington Beach police Officer Angela Bennett.

He is charged with oral copulation by anesthesia/controlled substance, rape, rape by use of drugs, forcible oral copulation, sodomy by force, sodomy by anesthesia or controlled substance and false imprisonment, according to court records, and is due back in court on June 1 for arraignment.

Bennett said the victim managed to escape her attacker and seek help at a nearby home.

The suspect had fled the location by the time officers responded, according to Bennett, who said the woman confirmed that she did not know her attacker and had no prior relationship with him.

“Detectives believe there may be additional victims …,” Bennett said.

Ryan’s photo was not released due to the ongoing investigation, but police released an image of the white 2003 Toyota Echo that he was driving at the time of his arrest and urged anyone who recognizes the vehicle or has information about other possible crimes committed by the suspect to call the department’s hotline at (714) 375-5066.
