Pomona Police Saturday announced the arrest of three suspected gang members wanted in connection with a carjacking in the city.
The incident happened Wednesday at 10 p.m. in the 400 block of East Phillips Boulevard when a man told officers he had been hit from behind and his wallet and car were taken, said Pomona police Cpl. Christian Pagtakhan.
During the investigation, officers learned the stolen car was equipped with OnStar, Pagtakhan said.
OnStar was able to locate the stolen vehicle in San Bernardino and officers from the San Bernardino Police Department found the stolen car in the 400 block of East Third Street, Pagtakhan said.
San Bernardino Police officers arrested the three men after they were spotted removing items from the victim’s car and placing them into a different vehicle, said Pagtakhan.
The three were identified as Carlos Ernesto Torres, 24, of Pomona, Jesus Ramon Juarez, 28, of Upland and Daniel Lopez, 20, from San Bernardino. Torres and Juarez were arrested for carjacking and Lopez was arrested for possession of stolen property, Pagtakhan said.
