All lanes of the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Pacoima reopened Tuesday, six hours after two people were killed and two others injured in a three-vehicle crash.
The crash was reported at 9 p.m. Monday on the southbound side of the freeway at Osborne Street, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The deceased victims — a man and woman, both 30 — were in one vehicle, she said.
A 21-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and an 85-year-old woman was in fair condition. Both were taken to a hospital, Stewart said.
A 65-year-old man was evaluated at the scene for possible hospital transport for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Stewart said.
