A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Tuesday on the southbound Escondido (215) Freeway in Perris.
Riverside County firefighters responded about 2:45 a.m. to a traffic collision on the freeway just north of Highway 74 and the first arriving engine company reported one victim dead at the scene, according to Tawny Cabral with the Riverside County Fire Department.
All southbound lanes of Interstate 215 are closed while the California Highway Patrol conducts its investigation, she said.
