Authorities Tuesday will seek public help to solve the 2005 shooting death of a man whose body was found in his Hacienda Heights residence.

Edward Berber, 27, was found dead by his mother on Dec. 6, 2005, in his home in the 1800 block of Charlemonte Avenue, said sheriff’s Deputy Wally Bracks.

“She had not heard from him for a few days,” Bracks said. “To her dismay, she found her son shot to death.”

A news conference was planned later Tuesday morning at the Hall of Justice in downtown Los Angeles by Sheriff Jim McDonnell and homicide detectives to display images of a person of interest being sought in connection with the crime and to seek public help in solving the case.
