Arson appears to be the cause of a fire inside a vacant, two-story Victorian home in Pasadena, authorities said Thursday.
No suspects were in custody and investigators continued to collect physical evidence at the scene of the fire near Fair Oaks Avenue and Mountain Street, according to Deputy Chief Bryan Frieders with the Pasadena Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the blaze about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and discovered flames coming from the second floor of the home, Frieders said.
A second alarm was requested and 55 firefighters surrounded the home and moved to protect nearby homes, said Frieders. No other homes were damaged.
Knockdown was declared about 11 p.m., Frieders said.
No injuries were reported.
NBC4 reported the home is 130 years old and was damaged by fire nearly a year ago.
