Four people were detained Saturday morning following a pursuit and deputy-involved shooting in Compton.

Deputies were in pursuit of a reckless driving and DUI suspect at 11:20 p.m. Friday when the driver crashed in the 900 block of Thorson Avenue, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Two suspects exited the vehicle, at which time a deputy-involved shooting occurred, said Schrader. The two suspects fled and deputies set up a containment area to search for the pair.

Two more men were located inside the suspect vehicle and were detained by deputies at the scene, Schrader said.

Approximately three hours later, deputies located and detained the two men who had run from the vehicle after the crash and shooting, she said. Neither man was wounded.

Deputies searched the area for the suspects’ weapons.

No deputies were hurt.
