A 47-year-old man was shot and killed in Rosemead and sheriff’s detectives searched Thursday for his killer.
A deputy from Temple Station was driving westbound on Garvey Avenue at San Gabriel Boulevard about 11 p.m. Wednesday when he heard gunshots coming from west of his location, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He drove to the 8000 block of Garvey Avenue and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, she said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Schrader said.
Detectives later learned the victim was walking with a woman who heard multiple gunshots and saw a man fleeing westbound away from the scene, said Schrader.
A description of the suspect was not immediately available and it was unclear if this incident was gang-related, she said.
Anyone with information about this incident was asked to call the Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
