A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash and one driver is in custody as police searched Saturday for the driver of a second vehicle involved.
Police responded at 9:45 p.m. Friday to the area near the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Wyandotte Street where they located the victim, according to Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
ABC7 reported one driver was taken into custody a short distance from the crash after he slammed into some parked cars.
“The person was hit by the car and knocked to the roadway,” LAPD Sgt. David Delgado told ABC7. “It appears maybe a second vehicle may have hit the person after they hit the ground.”
ABC7 said the victim was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Madison said. The person’s age was not disclosed.
The second vehicle is believed to be a 2012 to 2015 Honda Pilot, Madison said.
