A man was found shot to death Wednesday morning near the drive-thru of a Jack-in-the-Box in Long Beach.

Officers received a call about 12:15 a.m. of a shooting near 52nd Street and Atlantic Boulevard and located a man with gunshot wounds to his upper torso, according to Lt. James Richardson of the Long Beach Police Department.

Long Beach Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene, Richardson said.

The victim was found in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, NBC4 reported. Employees at the restaurant were interviewed by police, the station said.

Homicide detectives were investigating the incident.

A description of the suspect or suspects was not immediately available.
