A 25-year-old convicted sex offender was behind bars Tuesday on charges of exposing himself to one of his girlfriend’s teenage relatives in Anaheim.
Anthony Robert Garcia of Anaheim was charged Friday with two counts of child annoyance with a prior conviction for sex offenses, according to court records.
Garcia allegedly touched himself in front of his girlfriend’s 17-year-old relative multiple times, police said.
Garcia, who was being held on $25,000 bail, is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 19.
Garcia pleaded guilty Oct. 7, 2014, to three misdemeanor counts of child annoyance and two misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure and was initially sentenced to 150 days in jail — time he had already served by the time he was sentenced — but he violated probation so many times he ended up doing 420 days in custody, according to court records.
In that case, Garcia exposed himself to a 15-year-old girl in February 2014 and exposed himself to another victim twice, once on March 17, 2014, and again on March 31, 2014, as she walked to school, according to court records.
In January, his probation officer filed a motion to revoke his probation because he repeatedly failed alcohol tests, according to court records.
After he was released from jail in May of last year, he was “reminded that he is a father with a child and must take care of the child,” the probation officer said. “Unfortunately the probationer did not take the advice and direction seriously.”
Garcia failed to attend sex offender and alcohol treatment programs and submitted a diluted urine test in one instance to avoid violating probation, according to the probation revocation filing.
On Jan. 7 of this year, Garcia was caught shoplifting a bottle of Jameson whiskey from a Target store in Fullerton, according to the probation officer.
