Two men were hospitalized Wednesday morning following separate shootings in South Los Angeles, and police searched for the shooters.
In the first incident, officers were called about 11 p.m. Tuesday to the 7400 block of South San Pedro Street and located a victim who had been shot in the back, according to Lt. A. McGee of the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Station.
The man had been walking northbound on San Pedro Street when he passed a group of teenagers and was shot, she said.
In the second incident, officers responded about 12:15 a.m. to a building on the 7000 block of South Vermont Avenue and found a man who had been shot in face, neck and arm, McGee said. Investigators determined the shooter had fired into the building and wounded the man.
Both victims were transported to a hospital in stable condition, she said.
A motive for each shooting and detailed descriptions of the suspects were not immediately available.
