Two men were killed Thursday afternoon in Lynwood in shootings that investigators believe are related.
The first shooting was reported about 1:30 p.m. in the 11800 block of Louise Avenue, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim at the location and found the man down in the street suffering from bullet wounds, Crowder said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies were also called about 4:50 p.m. to a report of a shooting victim in an alley in the 11600 block of Pope Avenue, Crowder said.
When they arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds seated in a parked Mercedes-Benz sedan. He too was pronounced dead at the scene, Crowder said.
“This murder appears to be related to the earlier gunshot murder …,” Crowder said without elaborating.
In both cases, detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau were dispatched to investigate, Crowder said.
No suspect or vehicle descriptions have been made available in either killing and there was no word on whether the shootings were considered gang-related.
