Authorities Wednesday released images of three suspects believed to have been involved in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man who was gunned down in July in the unincorporated Willowbrook area near South Los Angeles.

James Stringfellow was shot about 9:35 p.m. July 9 in the 11800 block of Wilmington Avenue. He died the following day at a hospital.

Deputies called to the shooting scene found Stringfellow sitting in his vehicle, suffering from an upper body gunshot wound, said Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

“Investigators have identified a male black and two female blacks — all approximately 16-22 years old — with slender builds who were present during the incident, and were captured on video,” Schrader said. “They would like to speak with these individuals and are seeking the public’s help in identifying them.”

Investigators are also looking for a white, four-door car with a black hood that was seen in the vicinity.

Anyone who recognizes or has information about the three persons of interest or the vehicle was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
