A man was killed as he crossed a Pomona street, authorities said Monday.

The 38-year-old man was struck around 8:45 p.m. Sunday as he crossed Mission Boulevard at Curran Place, Lt. Marcus Perez said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, Perez said. His name was withheld pending family notification.

“The motorist and her spouse remained at the scene and are cooperating with police,” he said.

The intersection was shut down for the police investigation and motorists were advised to avoid the area, Perez said.
