A man was shot and killed in East Los Angeles and police searched Thursday morning for his killer.
Deputies responded about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 900 block of South Concourse Avenue, near Whittier Boulevard and the border with Montebello, and located the victim who had sustained at least one gunshot wound to his upper body and was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was involved in an altercation with another man, who fired at least one round at the victim, then fled in a white sedan southbound from the location, Crowder said.
A motive for the shooting is unknown and a detailed description of the shooter was not immediately available, he said.
Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
