Detectives investigated Saturday the reported deaths of two people in Malibu within the Woosley Fire area, but could not confirm whether the deaths were fire-related.

The incident occurred at 4:45 p.m. Friday in the 33000 block of Mulholland Highway, according to Deputy Tony Moore of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The area has been contained, but due to the location, elements and hazards in the area because of the Woosley Fire, homicide detectives will respond to the scene at sunrise Saturday, Moore said.

Anyone with information about this incident was asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
