An armed man who barricaded himself inside a Hacienda Heights home was taken into custody Monday after deputies pumped tear gas into the home, authorities said.
The barricade situation began just before 6 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of Punta Del Este Drive, Deputy Tracy Koerner said.
The sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau responded to the scene along with the negotiators to assist deputies from the Industry station, Koerner said.
It’s unclear what precipitated the standoff.
At 12:49 a.m. the SEB tweeted that the suspect was in custody and the neighborhood was safe.
