A man was wounded in a shooting Tuesday morning in Santa Ana and police searched for the gunman.

Officers responded just after midnight to the 1600 block of South Cedar Street and located the victim with a gunshot wound to his lower torso, according to Cmdr. Robert Rodriguez of the Santa Ana Police Department.

The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, Rodriguez said.

The victim was riding a bicycle at the time of the shooting, a news videographer reported from the scene.

Authorities did not immediately release a description of the suspect or report on a motive.
