A boy was hospitalized Wednesday morning with a gunshot wound suffered in a shooting in Baldwin Park that left a man dead.

Baldwin Park police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call about 9 p.m. Tuesday, went to the 15000 block of Olive Street and located the victims, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which was assisting Baldwin Park police with the investigation into the shooting.

The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene and the boy was shot once in the upper body and taken to a hospital in unknown condition, Crowder said.

A detailed description of the shooter was not immediately available.
