A man suspected of ramming his girlfriend’s vehicle several times and chasing her during a domestic dispute in Corona was released from custody Monday after posting $25,000 bail.

Pedro Cabrera, 40, was arrested Saturday night on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism after the alleged attack, which began in the downtown area. Cabrera posted bond Monday morning and was released from the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside.

According to Corona police, Cabrera and the victim had a quarrel over her decision to end their relationship, allegedly causing the suspect to fly into a rage shortly 11 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators said the woman fled their meeting place, managing to get into her sedan as Cabrera followed her.

The suspect allegedly quickly got into his vehicle and “rammed the victim’s vehicle several times,” according to a police department statement. She drove straight to the police station while on the phone with 911 dispatchers, investigators said. He allegedly tailed her into the parking lot of the station at Cota and Railroad streets, where officers were waiting, and he was taken into custody without a struggle, police reported.

The woman, whose name was withheld, did not require medical treatment.
