A man was shot and killed Thursday morning near a strip club in unincorporated Bassett in the San Gabriel Valley.

Sheriff’s deputies responded at 2:20 a.m. to the 13200 block of Valley Boulevard and located the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities withheld the name of the victim, who was in his 30s, pending notification of kin. He was found on a sidewalk outside the Bliss Showgirls strip club, NBC4 reported.

“Detectives … discovered that the suspect drove his vehicle alongside two victims,” a sheriff’s statement said. “The suspect exited the vehicle and fired multiple rounds at the victims. One of the victims was struck by gunfire and the second victim a male adult was able to flee the area without injury.”

A woman who said her brother was at the club told NBC4 she missed a call from him early Thursday morning.

“The last voicemail I believe he was talking to the police or something (because) they asked him ‘the person didn’t say anything to you?,’ he said no, they just pulled up and started shooting at us,” Virginia Gallegos said. “That was the last message that I heard.”

A description of the shooter was not immediately available.

Anyone with information about this shooting was urged to call the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
