As many as three people sustained minor injuries Tuesday in a shooting during a robbery or robbery attempt in West Hollywood that was reported to have involved recording artist Rich the Kid.

The gunfire was reported about 3:15 p.m. in the 7200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The robbery occurred at Westlake Recording Studios at 7265 Santa Monica Blvd., according to TMZ, which reported that singer Usher was inside the studio but wasn’t hurt and that Rich the Kid was outside and was the target of the robbery.

A witness told NBC4 he saw a man running along Santa Monica Boulevard who “looked like very anxious, and just scared.”

A white or silver Chevy Cruze or Malibu pulled up in front of the man, who produced a pistol and fired about nine times at the car, which was driven away. The witness said it appeared the gunman knew the people in the car because there appeared to be some conversation before the shots were fired.

A member of Rich the Kid’s entourage was pistol whipped, TMZ reported.

The were no reports of anyone being hit by gunfire.

According to ABC7, three people were treated at the scene and released.
