Two Los Angeles Police Department officers were hospitalized Friday morning with injuries suffered in a crash in the Adams-Normandie section of Los Angeles.

The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Western Avenue and 28th Street, but the circumstances of the crash or whether the officers were responding to a call were unknown, according to Officer Tony Im of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section.

The police vehicle crashed through the gate of a home and the two officers were freed from the wreckage by Los Angeles firefighters, ABC7 reported.

One officer suffered a leg injury and the other was wearing a neck brace as they were placed into an ambulance and taken to a hospital, ABC7 said. Their conditions were unknown.
