An 18-year-old resident of Pomona was arrested on suspicion commercial burglary for allegedly smashing the front window of a skateboard shop in Claremont Saturday and taking some items from the store.

“Officers located a blood trail leading away from the business,” Claremont Police Sgt. Hector Tamayo said. “Officers followed the blood trail and found the suspect nearby wearing a Stix Ride Shop beanie with the price tag hanging from off of it. The suspect was immediately detained without incident.”

Officers were dispatched about 3:50 a.m. to the shop at 175 N. Indian Hill Blvd. regarding an alarm activation and discovered that the front window to the business had been shattered, Tamayo said.

“During the investigation, officers discovered that the suspect had also stolen a skateboard, two shirts, and a baseball-style hat, which he had hid in a nearby trash can,” he said. “All the property was recovered and returned to the business owner.”

Bryan Garcia was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and possession of stolen property. He was booked at the Claremont Police Department Jail, where he was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
