One driver was killed and two others were injured in a four-vehicle collision Wednesday morning in Riverside.
The crash was reported about 10:55 a.m. on Allesandro Boulevard near Via Vista Drive, according to Riverside Police Department Sgt. Erich Feimer.
The initial investigation revealed the driver of a white Nissan Titan pickup was headed south on Allesandro Boulevard just north of Via Vista Drive and lost control of the pickup truck, which crossed into northbound lanes just south of the intersection, Feimer said.
The Nissan was struck by three northbound vehicles — a blue Ford Ranger pickup, a gray Infiniti SUV and U-Haul box truck towing a flatbed trailer, Feimer said.
The driver of the Ford, a 65-year-old Yucaipa man, was rushed to Riverside Community Hospital, where he died from his injuries, Feimer said.
The driver of the Nissan, a 33-year-old Riverside resident, suffered moderate injuries and was also taken to Riverside Community Hospital. The driver of the Infiniti, a 35-year-old from Riverside, was taken to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Feimer said.
There was no indication from Feimer that the U-Haul driver, identified by police as a 65-year-old from San Marcos, had been injured in the crash, which was being investigated by the Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
