Two women were injured Saturday during a fire at a Westminster mobile home park, authorities said..
The fire was reported about 6:45 p.m. in the 9700 block of Bolsa Avenue, Capt. Paul Holaday of the Orange County Fire Authority said.
There were multiple residents inside the home at the time of the fire and all but one woman were able to escape, Westminster police Sgt. Phuong Pham said. The woman was rescued by firefighters.
She and another woman who lived in the mobile home were taken to a hospital for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation, Pham said. One was in critical condition and the other was listed as having stable vital signs, authorities said.
Firefighters knocked down the blaze at 7:03 a.m., the OCFA said.
OCFA arson investigators and police detectives investigated the fire and identified a suspect who was taken into custody, Pham said. He is identified as Lam Nguyen, alias Tony Nguyen, 66, of Westminster. “He was arrested for arson in 2017 and 2019 and he is also currently on parole for arson,” Pham said.
Anyone with information was asked to call Westminster Police at (714) 898-3315 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
