Police in Burbank Wednesday detained three residential burglary suspects, including two who were found hiding under a house.

Officers responded about 9:25 a.m. to a report of a burglary in progress, with suspects inside a home in the 1800 block of North Kenwood Street, according to Burbank Police Department Sgt. Derek Green.

“Responding officers were able to stop a vehicle believed to be involved and later detained the driver,” Green said. “Two additional suspects remained outstanding, as a perimeter and containment was set.”

Officers found “items of evidence” inside the vehicle, as well as in the neighborhood, Green said.

He said Luther Burbank Middle School and Burbank Adult School were placed on lockdown as searches were conducted by officers with help from police dogs from the Burbank, San Fernando and Glendale police departments.

“After about four hours of searching, Burbank police officers were led to a residence in the 1900 block of North Maple Street, where the two outstanding suspects were found hiding underneath the house,” Green said.

The suspects, who were booked on suspicion of burglary, were identified late Wednesday afternoon as Katie Frank, 22, Elias Valdez, 26, and Jesus Ruano, 28. All three are Los Angeles residents.
