Nearly 150 drivers were citied by Pasadena police for violations related to dangerous driving, authorities said Saturday.

Officers conducted enforcement between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday at various locations throughout the city, looking for dangerous driving behavior including speeding, running red light, right of way and other violations that lead to crashes, according to Lt. Mark Goodman of the Pasadena Police Department.

“As always, a majority of our enforcement efforts… focused on locations suggested to us by (residents),” Goodman said.

As a result of Friday’s operation, 35 drivers were cited for speeding, four for running red lights and another 110 were issued citations for other types of dangerous driving, such as right of way violations and failing to stop at posted stop signs, Goodman said. One driver was cited for driving with a suspended license.

“Community engagement related to these operations really assist us in working on locations where traffic safety is a concern,” Goodman said.
