A 28-year-old man from Los Angeles was killed in a rollover crash on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Glendora, authorities said Saturday.
The man was later identified as Bryan Trujillo, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The crash was reported at 3:53 p.m. Friday just west of Grand Avenue, where an SUV was on its roof blocking the left main lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A preliminary investigation determined the driver of a silver 1999 Isuzu SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed in and out of multiple lanes on the Foothill Freeway prior to the crash, CHP Officer R. Reyes said.
Trujillo was in the carpool lane when he changed lanes to the right across the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes and partially into the No. 3 lane, then quickly steered to the left to avoid colliding with a vehicle in the No. 3 lane, Reyes said.
“The driver subsequently lost control causing the SUV to overturn several times,” he said.
Trujillo was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Alcohol was not suspected to be a factor in the crash, Reyes said.
Anyone who witnessed the crash was asked to call CHP Officer R. Reyes at the (626) 338-1164.
