A tow truck driver was struck by a big rig and killed on the Golden State (5) Freeway in the Castaic area and the driver of the big rig was at-large Saturday morning.
The AAA Auto Club driver was struck at 8:15 p.m. Friday on the southbound side of the freeway near Vista del Lago, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver, a man about 35 years old, was tending to a stopped vehicle when he was struck by a tandem big rig that did not stop, the CHP reported.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
