Police Wednesday released images of three suspects in an attempted armed robbery inside a building in Beverly Hills.
The robbery occurred about 7 p.m. on April 23, when the suspects approached an unnamed 22-year-old man after following him to the location, according to Beverly Hills Police Department Lt. Elisabeth Albanese.
“The first suspect pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded his property,” Albanese said, adding that the victim was unaware that he had been followed to the building in the 9800 block of Wilshire Boulevard.
The suspects ended up fleeing empty-handed, the lieutenant said.
All three suspects were described as black men between 20 and 30 years old. Investigators believe they may have ties “to the Bay Area and/or the Houston, Texas area,” she said.
One of the suspects had a medium build and wore a matching black T-shirt and shorts ensemble with a pink and white design, a red Raiders baseball cap, black socks and white Gucci slide sandals. He was also wearing a necklace and had a tattoo on the back of his neck. Albanese said he may be left-handed.
A second suspect also had a medium build, sported a full beard and wore black Nike shorts, a black Nike sweatshirt and a black Houston Rockets baseball cap.
The third suspect was clad in a matching camouflage sweatsuit, green undershorts and red athletic shoes.
The trio fled in a newer-model white Ford Explorer with no license plates. The SUV was driven by a fourth suspect, but no description of that person was available, Albanese said.
Anyone with information regarding the suspects was encouraged to call the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Detective Bureau at 310-285-2158.
