A woman who led California Highway Patrol officers on a nearly 90 minute pursuit from Long Beach to an area north of Castaic was in custody Wednesday morning.

California State University Long Beach police tried to pull the driver over around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday for driving without headlights on, but the suspect fled, according to CHP Officer Patrick Kimball.

The CHP began its pursuit about 10:30 p.m on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway near the CSULB campus, Kimball said.

The suspect proceeded northbound on the San Diego Freeway at speeds in the 60s before she transitioned onto the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Mission Hills.

At one point she squeezed by traffic in a construction zone on the northbound Golden State Freeway in Valencia, driving in closed lanes of the construction area near Hasley Canyon Road, before returning to open lanes of the freeway.

The woman was taken into custody about 11:40 p.m., CBS2 reported.

Her name was not released.

No injuries were reported.
