An 18-year-old man from Costa Mesa who is autistic, non-verbal and has the mental capacity of a 2-year-old was found Thursday morning in Santa Ana after being reported missing.
The man was located about 12:40 a.m., according to Roxi Fayed, Public Affairs Manager for the Costa Mesa Police Department. The exact location where he was found was not disclosed
A parent called police at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday to report their son walked out of the house in the vicinity of Fairview Road and Merrimac Way, Fyad said.
A helicopter was used to search for the man, police said.
