A person was struck by a vehicle and killed Saturday morning on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Pacoima.
Officers responded about 4:25 a.m. to the crash scene near the Osborne Street exit and located the victim down in the No. 3 lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told officers a dark-colored vehicle may have struck the person and fled the scene, the CHP said.
It was unclear why the victim was on the freeway when the accident occurred.
All lanes of the northbound Golden State Freeway just south of Osborne Street were closed for an unknown duration.
