A rally seeking to bring attention to the sufferings of those persecuted for their religious beliefs and hold the persecutors accountable is scheduled Wednesday in Downtown Los Angeles.
The rally outside City is part of a series of 15 planned coast-to-coast Wednesday organized by Save the Persecuted Christians, which bills itself as a grassroots movement seeking to educate the public on anti-Christian violence, and Nations in Action, a nonprofit organization that describes itself as being “focused on restoring transparency to government, outing corruption and holding public servants accountable to the people they represent.”
The rallies are being held six days before the start of the second Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom in Washington, where “a broad range of stakeholders, including senior government representatives, international organization representatives, and up to 1,000 civil society and religious community representatives, will convene to discuss challenges, identify concrete ways to combat religious persecution and discrimination, and ensure greater respect for freedom of religion or belief,” according to the State Department.
The ministerial will be hosted by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
