Authorities searched a hillside off Lost Canyon Road in Canyon Country Wednesday morning looking for a missing 31-year-old woman diagnosed with schizophrenia and depression.
Nakita Marie Monkhouse was last seen at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in her home in the 28400 block of Oak Springs Canyon Road, near Comet Way, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita Valley Station.
Monkhouse, who also goes by Nakita or Nikki Kichler, is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 100 pounds with long purple hair and blue eyes and several tattoos on both arms. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, blue jeans and black Nike shoes, the sheriff’s department said.
Deputies alerted residents in the area they may see members of the Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue team lighting up a hillside off Lost Canyon Road.
Anyone with information on Monkhouse’s whereabouts was asked to call the sheriff’s Missing Persons Bureau at 323-890-5500.
