A pedestrian struck and killed in Hollywood by a motorist who fled the scene was homeless, authorities said Sunday.
Richard Earl Debose was 29 years old, coroner’s Lt. Nani Cholakians said.
He was injured about 3 a.m. Friday at Highland and Willoughby avenues and died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim now identified as Debose was hit by a white late-model Mercedes C300 or similar vehicle that was northbound on Highland Avenue. No description was available of the motorist.
A standing reward of up to $50,000 is available from the city of Los Angeles for information that helps police solve a fatal hit-and-run.
