A threat made on social media against Rancho Starbuck Intermediate School in East Whittier prompted an increase in the number of deputies on campus Thursday.
The threat was reported Wednesday evening and detectives identifed and questioned two students in connection with the threat, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Norwalk Station.
“We treat all threats as serious and investigate immediately,” the Norwalk Station tweeted. “Joke or not.”
The department announced additional deputies would be at the school at 16430 Woodbrier Ave. Thursday to help ease any fears.
Details of the threat were not disclosed.
