A person was struck by a Metrolink train and killed Thursday evening in Industry, near the border with Baldwin Park.

The victim, whose age and gender were not immediately available, was struck by eastbound San Bernardino Line Train 330 just before 7 p.m. on a bridge over a wash just north of North Feather Avenue, according to Scott Johnson of Metrolink.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Johnson said.

The train proceeded to the Baldwin Park Station, where it was determined it had struck someone and the victim was subsequently located in a non-pedestrian area, Johnson said.

None of the approximately 275 passengers aboard the train was injured. Around 8:15 p.m., they were taken by bus to an awaiting train at the Covina Station, Johnson said.

Five more trains, three from Los Angeles and two headed toward San Bernardino, were affected and about 600 passengers navigated their way around the incident by means of buses, Uber and Lyft.

All are eligible for monetary compensation, Johnson said.

Regular service on the line is expected to resume Friday morning, he said.

Personnel from the sheriff’s Industry Station were investigating the fatality.
