A male pedestrian was fatally struck by a freight train Saturday while walking on tracks in Corona, authorities said.

The collision happened at about 7:40 a.m. north of a mobile home community at 4901 Green River Road, Corona police said.

The conductor of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train used the horn several times to alert the pedestrian of the danger, police said. The unidentified male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation continued into the death, police said.
