A man on a bicycle was shot and wounded Saturday by his companion rider, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at 1:17 p.m. at Seventh and Alvarado streets in the Westlake area of Los Angeles, said a dispatcher in the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
Both the victim and suspect were believed to be about 30 years old, she said.
The victim reportedly had stable vital signs at a hospital, she said.
His leg was wounded, according to a desk officer at the LAPD’s Rampart Station.
The shooting was believed to be gang related, the dispatcher said. The status of the suspect was not available.
