One man was killed and two people were hospitalized in critical condition after a multi-vehicle crash in El Monte, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 8:40 p.m. Sunday on Valley Boulevard and Durfee Avenue, El Monte police Sgt. J. Moy said.
Three cars were involved in the crash, he said.
The man was pronounced dead at a hospital, Moy said.
Valley Boulevard was shut down between Durfee Avenue and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway for the investigation and the Valley exit from the southbound 605 was shut down. The California Highway Patrol reopened the ramp about 3 a.m.
