An 80-year-old man suffering from schizophrenia, dementia and anxiety went missing in Gardena and sheriff’s detectives asked for the public’s help Wednesday to find him.

John Mack Sexton was last seen about 11 p.m. Tuesday at his residence on the 16000 block of Broadway Street, the department reported.

Sexton is white, stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 179 pounds, the LASD reported. He has gray hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a white hospital gown, a dark blue jacket, blue sweat pants and was barefoot, the LASD said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to call the LASD’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500 or 911. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
