A collision involving at least seven vehicles in Torrance left four people hurt Wednesday and several street lanes blocked for more than four hours.
The crash occurred about 7:40 a.m. at Crenshaw Boulevard and 181st Street, Torrance police Sgt. Alexander Martinez said.
According to Martinez, the driver of a silver 2007 Nissan Murano was heading north on Crenshaw approaching 181st Street and rear-ended a 2014 Lexus. The Nissan veered into opposing traffic and collided with five more vehicles, Martinez said.
Two Torrance men, aged 37 and 19, were taken to hospitals with major injuries suffered in the crash, Martinez said. Two other people suffered minor injuries. It was unclear which vehicles the injured people were in.
North and southbound lanes on Crenshaw were shut down for about 4 1/2 hours for the investigation, the sergeant said.
Anyone with information on the crash was asked to call Torrance police at 310-328-3456.
