A sheriff’s DUI/license checkpoint in Industry netted 13 arrests and resulted in three vehicles being impounded, authorities announced Friday.
The checkpoint, which operated from 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday, was set up at the intersection of Hacienda Boulevard and Nelson Avenue to take impaired drivers off the road, according to the sheriff’s department.
A total of 1,533 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with 1,423 drivers interviewed, according to the department.
Six unlicensed drivers were arrested; three people were jailed for alleged possession of narcotics; one person was arrested for allegedly allowing an unlicensed person to drive their vehicle and three people were jailed for outstanding misdemeanor warrants, according to the sheriff’s department.
Three vehicles were impounded for one day, the department said.
