Authorities Friday identified two men being sought as suspects in an organized theft operation that targeted cosmetic retail stores in the Los Angeles area.
The crimes occurred from June to October of this year, generally between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., at businesses in Los Angeles, Glendale, Marina del Rey, Pasadena and Santa Monica, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Burglary Special Section.
Arrest warrants were issued for James Henry, 31, and Brian Upton, 29, the LAPD reported.
Police allege the suspects “entered the businesses with empty backpacks or shopping bags and concealed high-dollar fragrances in their empty bags. The suspects would then leave the store without paying for the merchandise … (and) were responsible for thousands of dollars in property loss.”
Police released security photos of the men, along with a video of one of the crimes.
Anyone with information about the case was urged to call detectives at 213-486-6940; 877-LAPD-247; or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
