The body of a man was found next to a burned out dumpster in Cudahy, but authorities said Tuesday morning his death was likely accidental.

Deputies responded to the 4500 block of Santa Ana Street, near Atlantic Avenue, about 10:30 p.m. Monday, where firefighters discovered the man’s body after they extinguished the dumpster fire, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A preliminary investigation deemed the man’s death accidental in appearance and the coroner’s office will make the final determination about the man’s cause of death, the department said.

The age and name of the victim were not disclosed.
