A 35-year-old man was charged Tuesday with vehicular manslaughter for a hit-and-run collision that killed a 92-year-old woman in Westminster.
Dung Quoc Kha of Westminster was charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence and a felony count of hit and run with permanent injury as well as an infraction for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Kha pleaded not guilty in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana and was ordered to return to court Dec. 26 for a pretrial hearing in the West Justice Center in Westminster.
The collision occurred about 6 p.m. Sunday at Westminster Boulevard and Goldenwest Street, according to Westminster police.
Kha struck Tin Thai Phan, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and kept driving, police alleged.
Police tracked down Kha later Sunday evening and arrested him.
